Sandwich Throwdown Winning Dish: Hot Chicken Foie Gras Sandwich

EMMANUEL HESSLER: HOT CHICKEN FOIE GRAS SANDWICH

Once again, we’ve managed to pop our belly buttons and add countless unhealthy calories to our already not-so-healthy diet. I had a sneaking suspicion that this throwdown would be a tough one to digest; we calculated that twelve of us must have eaten about three and a half sandwiches each! I can kind of believe it. What’s more surprising is that we all voted for the fattiest, most decadent sandwich of the bunch! I think we have a terrible penchant for foie gras in our group.

Finally, Mr Emmanuel Hessler has won a throwdown! After months of griping about unfair voting and the sneaky attribution of the bonus point to himself during the last throwdown – logic there? – Many has managed to pull off a dish that everyone loved. He even managed to smuggle foie gras through the border to Vermont, giving him a smart advantage as many of us had to make do with the local grocery store’s poor fair. So, I raised my glass to Many for his delectable, plate-licking dish. Chapeau!

Stay tuned for the runners up, recipes, and photos…

    Yay me!
What can I say but that a winner is a winner, and a humble winner I was.
Leading up to the throwdown, I did a lot of trash talking, asking everyone to bring lipstick with them for they would have to grovel before my winning dish and kiss my b**t.
But honestly people, I didn’t actually believe that I had a standing chance.
On a different note, I received my blood test results today and my cholesterol has gone up.
    I blame my win!

You definitely deserved your win and your trash talk was hilarious! If you had brought the lipstick, we would have puckered up đŸ˜‰ I cannot wait to recreate this recipe during the cold winter months (and possibly eat the leaftover sauce with a spoon…)

Except we’ll do the beer-can chicken properly! MORE GRAVY
